for the past 3 or 4 days i have considered ending my blog career. not for lack of desire, i really enjoy this. but i’m afraid that there are many of you out there who think you are a part of my life because you read this. not that you are alone in your guilt. i often think that i am sharing my life with you because of this blog.
i guess in some very very very small way it is true. but, i miss you… and no amount of comments on these things are going to make anyone feel less alone.
if you really need to fill your time with dropping in on someone with whom you have no other choice.. then please go here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/maripositamae/ want to be a part of my life? join me for dinner. join me in prayer. lets go for a walk.
any of which will say more for the kingdom than 100 years worth of blog posts.
i’m begining to think that this: http://www.bruderhof.com/ wasn’t such a bad idea.

“the primary ethical question is not, What ought I now to do? but rather, HOw does the world really look? the most interesting question about the Sermon [on the Mount] is not, Is this really a pracitcal way to live in the world? but rather, Is this really the way the world is? What is “practical” is related to what is real. If the world is a society in which only the strong, the independent, the detached, the liberated, and the successful are blessed, then we act accordingly. However, if the world is really a place where God blesses the poor, the hungry, and the persecuted for righteousness’ sake, then we must act in accordnace with reality or else appear baffingly out of step with the way things are.”
- more goodness from S.H.
“how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn’t see?”

damn it doug. you made me cry.
for those of you who are not doug. go here: http://www.firstgiving.com/whartons
on that note:
it is partly my fault that i will be christmas shopping tomorrow. i don’t think that i did enough preparation for this season. so in light of that, i’m announcing now, that in 2006 i will be participating in buy nothing christmas. if you feel that you must buy me a gift, then I will direct you to one of the many people that need the money much more than you or I. you can feel free to make a donation in my name to one of them. i will be very honored. However, please do not be offended if I do not buy you a gift, because i’m stating up front, one year in advance, that I will not be purchasing gifts.
If it makes you feel better, call it a religious conviction. People get away with all kinds of things because we don’t want to trample on each others convictions.. so.. then this is mine. this consumption must stop. and if it does not being with us.. then i’m afraid the world has no hope.
