a few quotes from readings about the war..
In Defense of the Gospel of Peace: An Evangelical Antiwar View
“Evangelicals have also bought into the notion that one cannot criticize their government’s foreign policy without being a traitor. Patriotism now trumps Biblicalism. Why is it OK for theological conservatives to criticize their government in almost vitriolic terms on other issues but they feel the need to conform on the issue of militarism? Why is it that the draft, a minority opinion in the U.S, enjoys some of its strongest support from Christian conservatives? In the minds of these Christian conservatives, it is reprehensible for the government to take a third of our incomes but makes perfect sense for the government to forcefully take control of the lives of young people in their prime to take up arms and possibly face death.”
Cheney to Democrats: Weakness Invites Terror
“Terrorist attacks are not caused by the use of strength. They are invited by the perception of weakness,” Cheney said at Camp Pendleton on the Southern California coast.
Does this guy really think america was attacked because of how weak it was.. Does he really think Osama bin laden was sitting in a cave somewhere thinking to himself.. “man.. those americans are weak and they cant possibly defend themselves.. lets kill em!”
